Zoom App Creation Build Flow

This information is for the Zoom Marketplace app creation build flow. You can use the build flow to create apps to surface third party applications into Zoom products and to integrate Zoom products into third party applications.

Prerequisites

The build flow design reduces the time needed to start creating apps for and integrations with the Zoom platform.

The UI and flow is driven by the following questions:

  • What? What kind of app are you creating? Is this an app for end-users or a server-to-server integration?
  • Where? Do you want users to use your app within the Zoom client or do you want users to access Zoom features within a third party product?
  • Which? Which Zoom products do you want your app to work with? The build flow enables you to build apps to target multiple Zoom products at once.

At the top layer, the build flow UI is organized by Development and Production filters. The filters reduce screen clutter and display only what you need to complete your task.

Development displays fields and information relevant for the development of your app.

Production displays fields and tasks relevant to preparing your app to be published to the Zoom App Marketplace.

Technical note

Some fields appear in both the development and production environments, but their values differ. For example, your app's credentials are different in development than in production. When you switch between the Development and Production environment filters, the fields are labeled to indicate which environment they apply to.

To create apps for the Zoom platform and publish to the Zoom Marketplace:

  1. In the development phase, use the build flow to create your app.
  2. In the production phase, use the build flow to prepare your app for review and publishing.
  3. In the review phase, you work with the Zoom Marketplace team to review your app.
  4. Publish your app to the Zoom Marketplace.
