Introduction to My Notes
The My Notes API enables developers to programmatically access My Notes content. My Notes is Zoom's AI-powered personal note-taking companion — a private workspace where users capture thoughts and transcripts during meetings, generate AI-assisted summaries, and organize action items across Zoom meetings, Microsoft Teams meetings, Google Meet sessions, and in-person discussions.
With the My Notes API, you can build integrations that surface My Notes content in external tools, automate note organization workflows, and connect Zoom's AI-generated meeting recaps to your own applications.
Prerequisites
To use the My Notes API, ensure the following requirements are met.
- A Zoom account plan that includes My Notes.
- My Notes is enabled on the account by an admin for: Account Settings, AI Companion, and My Notes.
What can you build with the My Notes API?
The My Notes API is designed for developers who want to extend personal note-taking beyond the Zoom client. Common use cases include:
- CRM and productivity integrations — Sync meeting notes, transcripts, and action items directly into tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion, or Jira after a meeting ends.
- Knowledge management — Aggregate notes content across meetings into a searchable knowledge base or second-brain application.
- Workflow automation — Trigger downstream actions (task creation, calendar follow-ups, email drafts) based on AI-extracted action items from notes.
- Enterprise reporting — Build dashboards that surface meeting insights and recurring themes from a user's personal notes over time.
- Custom note editors — Embed My Notes content into proprietary internal tools or intranet portals.
Note: The My Notes API leverages the Canvas Search API for note search. Rather than duplicating the API documentation here, use this link to the Canvas File Search endpoint Canvas Search API.
