Video SDKWeb

Version 2.6.10

Bug fixSDK version

Summary:Adds OnHold support, which places participants in a waiting room until a host or manager admits them, along with host/manager APIs to manage held users and a per-user hold status check. It also introduces chat, emoji reactions, and live translation captions for broadcast streaming viewers. Bug fixes address an uncaught error with the stayAwake option on low-power mobile devices, annotation failures on the presenter side in edge cases, and an issue where name changes were not preserved across subsessions.

Added

  • OnHold support. OnHold places participants in a holding state when they join a session, until a host or manager admits them. To enable it, set the hold field in the SDK JWT payload of the first user to join the session. See Hold participants until admitted for details.
    • Hosts and managers can call client.getOnHoldUsers() to get the users on hold, client.admit() or client.admitAll() to admit them, and client.enableHold() to turn OnHold on or off during the session.
    • Call client.isUserOnHold() or listen for the on-hold-change event to get the on hold status of the current user.
    • When hold is 1 or 2, the session rejects clients that do not support OnHold, including Video SDK for web versions earlier than 2.6.10 and native Video SDK versions earlier than 2.6.11.
  • Chat, emoji reactions, and live translation captions for broadcast streaming viewers. Viewers can send chat messages with streaming.sendChat(), send emoji reactions with streaming.sendEmojiReaction(), and set the caption translation language with streaming.setTranslationLanguage().

Fixed

  • Issue where the stayAwake option in client.init() failed with an uncaught error when the mobile device was in low power mode.
  • Issue where annotation did not work on the presenter side in some edge cases.
  • Issue where a changed name was not kept across subsessions, and users could not change their name in a subsession.
