Reminder: in two APIs, omitted fields to begin automatically inheriting user's account settings

As part of a phased rollout for Free accounts and fully enabling for all accounts on March 15, 2026, omitted fields in the Create a Meeting and Create a Webinar APIs will now automatically inherit the user's account default settings.

These fields will now inherit the user’s default settings whether or not they are included in the request body.

Create a Meeting API post/users/{userId}/meetings

• watermark, question_and_answer, auto_start_meeting_summary, who_will_receive_summary, auto_start_ai_companion_questions, who_can_ask_questions, summary_template_id, allow_host_control_participant_mute_state, language_interpretation, and sign_language_interpretation

Create a Webinar API post/users/{userId}/webinars

• password, add_watermark, add_audio_watermark, language_interpretation, sign_language_interpretation, panelist_authentication, and allow_host_control_participant_mute_state

If your integration already specifies field values in the request body, no action is required.

NOTE The default_password field is not affected, and remains unchanged.
